Four full sheets of pure carbon
fiber comprise the rest of the recipe for the success of the all new Truth. The
aluminum/fiberglass top helps to dampen the Truth just enough for smooth deceleration
and the full carbon interior stores up more than enough energy for a quick rebound
and an amazing side-to-side pendulum swing. The Truth's soft bottom bevel and
turned down top edge allow the ski to turn incredibly well even when approaching
the turn at warp speed. Smoothness, stability and a slightly more forgiving nature
than the Phantom, are the trademarks of the Truth. "This ski turns tighter, holds
better and is more explosive across the course my job just got a lot easier, and
that’s the straight truth!" -Drew Ross SKILL

Ski technology & features
Graduated Bevel Design:
Our team told us they wanted their skis to roll on edge easily and accelerate
away from the turn quickly without compromising stability. Common knowledge used
to say to make a ski stable, build it with a narrow tunnel. We discovered the
best of both worlds with our graduated bevel design. The bevels are round at the
back of all HO slaloms and then transition into a crisp 45 degrees at the front
of the ski. A round bevel gives a skier quick turn initiation while the sharper
bevels at the front of the ski make for less drag, more speed, stability and tracking.
Adjustable Fin:
Way back in 1981 we found that by drilling new holes and moving our fins forward/back
or shallower/deeper we could affect the skis performance in a positive manner.
Hence - the adjustable fin. For 2004 we have a new aluminum fin clamping system
which allows for micro adjustments through the use of two set screws at the top
of the fin cap and one at the back for finite adjustments.
Torsion Box:
Both the Truth and the Phantom Truth employ a torsion box design with monocoque
construction allowing us to build lighter, stronger slalom skis.
Carbon Fiber:
Flex and rocker play an important role in the turning capabilities of a ski. Thru
trial and error with team skiers testing the placement of carbon fibers in strategic
areas we have been able to make a softer flexing ski fast, and one with less rocker
that turns incredibly well. For 2004 we have refined our usage of carbon and sourced
even better grades of this high tech, aerospace Phantom material. We have also
developed a new hybrid aluminum/fiberglass weave used on the Truth slalom.
Binding Isolation System - BIS:
We mold nylon blocks into our urethane foam cores, and then install self-tapping
stainless steel inserts in the binding locations. This keeps the holes from stripping
out and our bindings securely in place. In addition, the BIS allows the front
binding to float and not hamper the designed flex of the ski. This floating system
also dampens vibration and protects the finish of our skis.
Tail Weighting System:
We cant tell you how much this helps the skis to remain stable in the water.
The first time you use these you will wonder why it took so long to get these
to market. We made these weights an option this year and they fit right over the
new fin on all the new combos. Make sure you buy a set!
TERMS OF WARRANTY
HO Sports for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase, at manufacturer’s
option, repair or replace at no charge any HO Sports ski which breaks or is defective
in materials or workmanship; and, at manufacture’s option, will replace at one-half
(1/2) the current retail price or repair at cost, for the remainder of the original
owner’s life. Damage due to misuse, abuse or modification is excluded, as is normal
wear, such as handle dings, etc.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Under no circumstances should the bottom be waxed, painted or altered. Clean only
with soap and water – rinse thoroughly.
